(Mis)quotes of the Year
Here's a highlight of the Republican chatter over the past 24 hours:

Uhhhh, does anyone know what this means? Is this guy practicing to be President? We don't "do" the beginning or the end of life very well? We are all here because we "did" the beginning of our life well, and no one seems to have trouble dying (except for Fidel Castro). What the hell does this mean?
"This is not only a death, with all the sadness that brings, this is a killing. For that, we not only grieve that Terri has passed, but we grieve that our nation has allowed such an atrocity as this, and we pray that it will never happen again."

Hmmmm, while you're praying that "killing" never happens again, go ahead and throw in a good word for George Bush, who signed the death warrants of dozens of minorities in Texas and authorized a war in which 100,000 civilians have died. Consistency isn't a virtue, but it should be!

Why are all these Republicans getting upset about one death? We hate it when our legal system protects vulnerable Arabs! Oh dang, I forgot that the rules are different when the victim is a white vegetable. Time for the judges responsible for this to answer for their behavior? That's what white supremacist Matthew Hale said when he ordered the killing of a Chicago judge's mother and husband last month...
